Matt Cuts, head of Google’s Webspam team gave an interesting talk at WordCamp 2007 and gave an interesting talk about Search Engine Optimization tips for Bloggers. The below embedded video contains that talk. The talk is brought to you through OneMansBlog. If you feel that listening to an hour of talk requires a lot of patience, check out David Klien’s page who has transcribed the talk into text form. Maybe that can help you glance through the words quickly.
As we are into SEO, i would also suggest that you go through the SEO Best Practices guide which Google released sometime back ( Read: Learning SEO Best Practices from Google.)

What is Search Engine Optimization or SEO ?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks,” the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.
